Let the National Academies Summer Institute @ WVU help you:
- transform your classroom into an active learning environment
- improve student learning
The Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the National Academies invite college and university faculty, instructional staff, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students in
STEM disciplines to develop teaching skills to transform the undergraduate classroom.
The Summer Institutes on Undergraduate Education (
http://www.academiessummerinstitute.org/) are 5-day professional development workshops on the best, evidence-based methods in undergraduate
STEM education. Current research on active learning, assessment, and diversity are woven into the week, creating a forum to share ideas and develop innovative instructional materials to be implemented upon returning home. As a participant you will be actively engaged in workshops by leaders in the field and work in a team to develop teaching materials for use in your own classroom.
