Contributions to the team:
Heather’s scholarly focus on psycho-social factors impacting the retention of women in STEM, mentoring interventions in higher education,and the scholarship of teaching and learning has always aligned to the goals of the ADVANCE Center. So, it was logical for the team to invite her to be a master facilitator. Moreover, Heather’s awarded teaching excellence is helping the team to move to the virtual space and create new learning environments She immediately captures ideas from our brainstorming and improvisation processes to translate them to any format, bringing the collaborative, joyful playful experience of the ADVANCE Center work to the target audience. Heather’s superpower is to invite folks into the engagement zone by clear, patient and encouraging support, employing kindness and directness to provide necessary feedback needed for growth and real change.
